WHAT ARE THE SCHOOL HOURS?
Regular school hours are from 8:55-11:55am for all classes.
WILL I BE KEPT UP TO DATE ON WHAT IS GOING ON IN THE CLASSROOM?
A monthly bulletin will be issued for each class to inform you of your child’s activities. The bulletin is online for your convenience – christlutheranpk.org. You may also sign up to be reminded by text about upcoming events and school closings. Your teacher will give you those instructions.
DOES YOUR PROGRAM HAVE A CURRICULUM?
Our program is developed by the Director and teachers of the school to meet the Kentucky State Standards. It is developmentally appropriate, creative and fun!
HOW DO YOU HELP THOSE CHILDREN THAT ARE AT A DIFFERENT STAGE OF LEARNING?
Children that are in a class for their age group will be in various stages of growth. Our program is developmentally age appropriate and success oriented. If you are successful, you want to do more. Our program is open ended, so if you can do more, there is more to do.
HOW SHOULD MY CHILD DRESS FOR SCHOOL?
Clothing should be loose, comfortable and washable. Shoes should be suitable for locomotor movement in the gym and playground. Sandals, flipflops and crocs are hard to climb and run in.
WHAT ARE YOUR ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE PROCEDURES?
Arrival: Enter from Taylorsville Road, wait in car line, pull up and let your child walk to the door of the building marked Worship. We ask that you please do not let your child out of your car before the car in front of you pulls away. You will leave by the Six Mile Lane exit.
Departure: Parents will park for dismissal and enter our building by the outside gym doors. Use the long hallway to line up. Teachers will dismiss children in the order parents arrive. Please be in the hallway by 11:55am. Dismissal goes quickly.
HOW CAN I CARPOOL?
You may arrange for a carpool or add more people to your pick up list any time during the year. You will have a chance to meet parents in your child’s class at Parent Orientation. We will also send home a School Roster. This roster will have addresses and phone numbers of children that come your child’s day.
MAY I BRING A TREAT FOR MY CHILD’S BIRTHDAY?
Birthdays are very special days. You may send a simple purchased treat such as cupcakes, cookies or doughnut holes. Children with food allergies will have alternative treat provided for them by their own parent. Those children having a summer birthday will celebrate an “un-birthday” on a day of your choice.
OUR DIRECTOR IS AVAILABLE 9AM – 12PM TO ANSWER ANY OTHER QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE. WE ALSO MAY BE CONTACTED BY EMAIL – firstname.lastname@example.org
